Résumé : | This is an overview of the VET system in United Kingdom (UK). Information is presented according to the following themes : 1. External factors influencing VET : structure and development of the population and of the workforce, economy structure, regulation of the labour market, welfare and employment policies, value of VET in the labour market. 2. Providing vocational education and training in a lifelong learning perspective : diagram of the national education and training system ; government‐regulated VET provision ; other forms of training. 3. Shaping VET qualifications: methods used to anticipate labour market needs ; design process and qualification designers. 4. Promoting participation in vocational education and training : incentives for individuals, enterprises and providers ; guidance and counselling, structures and services ; challenges, difficulties, success stories.
