Résumé : | This is an overview of the VET system in Sweden. Information is presented according to the following themes : 1. External factors influencing VET : development of VET in Sweden ; population and employment ; skills provision ; challenges. 2. Providing VET in a lifelong learning perspective : diagram of the Swedish education and training system ; government-regulated VET provision (upper secondary VET, non-academic tertiary VET) ; other forms of VET (education in working life, liberal adult education, labour market policy programmes, private VET). 3. Shaping VET qualifications : steering and quality assurance ; cooperation with working life ; follow-up of transitions between education and the labour market. 4. Promoting participation in VET : information and guidance (national information, vocational orientation and guidance in formal education and for job seekers, vocational competitions) ; financial incentives for the individual and for education organisers.
